well finally the cold weather has come and what a difference it has made with plenty of fish getting caught and 5 fish over the 7lb mark. A rod average of 3 this week at foremark with some really good bags coming off and some of the best fish i have ever seen.
Dennis Ashford started the week of by taking 18 fish from a boat out side the Lodge, Dennis from Derby was using a Olive Minkie on a slow sinking line to catch a cracking bag of fish, Dennis caught some quality fish up to the 5lb mark. Bank anglers have been having some great sport outside the lodge with Glen Moody from Crewe taking 10 fish and his mate Ron Ayres landing 7 including a 9lb 8oz rainbow. The fish have started to hit the fry so a lot of the lures are working like Cats Whisker, Humungus, Sparklers, Fritz lures and even BlobsThe best fish of the season came out this week a fantastic rainbow of 12lb 2ozs Sam Fenn from Derby took the fish of a boat over on the Cascade. Sam was fishing an intermediate line and a white lure to tempt this fish of a life time.
The end of another great season is coming to an end (30th November) so now is your last chance to come and give it a go, the fishing should be good all the way through now and the big fish should still feed hard in the cold weather. Hope to see you up here soon and tight lines Phil Dixon. |
